Have a favorite U.S. military veteran or two in your life? It’s about time to officially honor them.
November 11 is fast approaching, a day we’ve celebrated in some form or another since 1919, when now-Veterans Day was called “Armistice Day.” Here at Mission Viejo Florist, we never miss an opportunity to match the perfect flowers to the occasion, and in the case of Veterans Day, we feel even more intent on doing your worthy recipients justice.
To that end, we recommend that you think beyond the red, white and blue palette and choose a green piece in a nod to U.S. military fatigues. Doing so also gives you a world of options, from flowering plants and hardy tropical greens to more masculine arrangements that leave out the roses and the lilies.
Our Cymbidium Delight is a good example of the genre. The orchids are unusual and lovely, while the purple and green hydrangea keep things understated and serene. There’s just a touch of color, but the piece is overwhelmingly monochromatic, making it an easy addition to existing decor.
As we honor our veterans through parades, observances and parties here in Orange County, consider sending some fine flowers to your favorite hero. We at Mission Viejo Florist are happy to help you work up a green-focused design or to customize one for you.
