In 2015, Tom Vilsack, the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture made a declaration that established the month of April as National Lawn and Garden Month. The purpose was to celebrate the importance of American home gardening and its long history as a family and community tradition. The choice of April for a national observance to recognize the significance of gardening was an excellent one. By April, Californians are enjoying spring in all of its glory, while the cold portions of the country may be seeing the first signs of spring as seedlings and shoots emerge from the ground.
We want to encourage our customers to join in the national observance as they celebrate the wonders of gardening and bringing a touch of nature into the home with their families, neighbors, friends, or other important people in their lives. When you fill your house with the bright colors and lovely fragrance of spring flowers, you can forget about anything that’s happening outside. Plant lovers go to great lengths to create indoor, patio and balcony gardens everywhere.
Tulips are practically synonymous with spring. When you put “Tulips Together,” as we do in this arrangement of three ten-tulip bunches, the vivid color combinations are sure to light up any room. Enjoy them on a console table, as a dining room centerpiece, or as a focal point on a dresser or coffee table.
If you want to have the unique and indoor exotic garden of anyone you know, consider a pretty low maintenance Bromeliad Garden. Place it somewhere where it will get plenty of light, but keep it away from intense direct sunlight. The lightweight planter looks like stone, creating the illusion that you’ve got a tropical garden growing inside your home.
For a touch of bold, beautiful elegance, look no further than our gorgeous Blue Hydrangea Planter. It’s very easy to see why hydrangeas are so popular in wedding bouquets, sophisticated flower arrangements, and as the rock stars of home perennial gardens. We’ve gone to great lengths to make sure that the square-shaped natural woven basket doesn’t take attention away from the lush blue color of the flowers. The violet-colored satin ribbon is an accent that highlights the contrast between the dark green leaves and the brilliant blue petals.
Let Mission Viejo Florist help you choose some container gardens, cut flowers or mixed flower arrangements to observe National Lawn and Garden Month. Celebrate the observance in your home, on your deck, patio or balcony, and in your back or front yard or garden.
